In 2021, our main research areas included the use of MRI in different neurological disorders, such as multiple sclerosis (MS), epilepsy, migraine, and neurooncology.
We have led a study to establish international consensus recommendations on the use of brain and spinal cord MRI in the diagnosis and monitoring of multiple sclerosis (MS), which have been published in a Lancet Neurol.
We have also evaluated advanced MRI techniques, such as susceptibility-weighted imaging to differentiate acute from chronic MS lesions, and the value of T1/T2 mapping in assessing tissue integrity in MS.
We also have worked in collaboration with the University of Girona on the development and implementation in clinical practice of automated tools based on CNN for the detection of radiological activity in multiple sclerosis patients receiving disease-modifying treatments. Based on this collaboration we have created a start-up company, Tensor Medical.
