During 2021, the microbiology research group has continued promoting its research on the study of the microbiology aspects involved in the infectious diseases improving its own research and collaboration with other hospital, primary health care and clinical research groups, as well as with the industry to potentiate the translation and exploitation of its research. We have worked with special interest in studying the mechanisms involved in antimicrobial resistance and nosocomial infection, the viral respiratory infection diseases, the microbial surveillance and characterization of emerging and re-emerging pathogens, the viral and fungal infection in immunocompromised patients, the sexually transmitted infectious diseases and in global health.
