The Research Group of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has developed and validated technological instruments, using smartphone technology and virtual reality system, for improve the physical activity levels and/or rehabilitation process of chronic spinal cord injured, COPD or hemiparetic stroke patients. For other hand, the group carries out different pharmacological studies in patients with acute traumatic spinal cord injury, chronic low back pain associated with vertebral body endplate bone edema and spinal muscular atrophy and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Furthermore, we have been working in the research of biomarkers to monitor and predict stroke recovery in patients undergoing intensive rehabilitation.
