The Bioengineering, Cellular Therapy and Congenital Malformation Surgery research group is made up of clinical researchers (pediatric surgeons, neonatologists and obstetricians) and basic researchers (biochemists, biotechnologists and biologists), which makes up a large multidisciplinary team with extensive experience in biomedical and clinical research. The objectives of the different lines of research carried out are the study of human congenital malformations, the development of new therapies based on advanced surgical techniques, as well as cell and pharmacological therapy to promote tissue regeneration for therapeutic purposes. During 2021, our team has published 14 scientific articles and is working on competitive financing projects of excellence at the national (CDTI) and international (H2020) levels for the study of innovative therapies in osteoarticular pathology and regenerative medicine.
